Witherslack is a small village in Cumbria, England. It's located in the southern part of Cumbria, near the north-eastern side of Morecambe Bay. The village is now part of a larger area called Witherslack, Meathop and Ulpha.
To the east of Witherslack, you'll find Whitbarrow Scar, a rocky area. A smaller limestone hill called Yewbarrow is right in the middle of the village. In 2011, about 499 people lived in Witherslack.
Witherslack is spread out and has four main parts:
- Townend: This is usually seen as the village center. It has the local pub, The Derby Arms, and a community shop.
- Mill Side: Here you'll find the old mill and its pond.
- Beck Head: This area is north of Mill Side. A small river starts here, flowing out from the limestone rocks near Whitbarrow.
- School/Church Area: This part of the village, west of Yewbarrow, is where Dean Barwick School and St. Paul's Church are located.

East of the church and north of Townend is Nether Hall. This building was once the home of the Harrington family in the 1400s. The current building, built in the 1500s and 1600s, has very thick walls (about 5 feet thick). These thick walls might be what's left of an old defensive tower called a pele tower.
How Witherslack's Boundaries Changed
Witherslack used to be a "township" and a "chapelry" within a larger parish called Beetham. In 1866, Witherslack became its own civil parish. However, on April 1, 2015, it joined with Meathop and Ulpha to form the new parish of "Witherslack, Meathop and Ulpha."
