Woodgate is a lovely coastal area in the Bundaberg Region of Queensland, Australia. It's a great place for holidays! In 2021, about 1,521 people lived here.
Within Woodgate, there are two small towns. One is Woodgate Beach, which is right on the eastern coast next to the Coral Sea. The other is Walkers Point, located on the southern coast near the Burrum River.

Exploring Woodgate's Nature
Woodgate is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches. This makes it a very popular spot for people from nearby parts of Queensland to visit. Imagine 16 kilometers (about 10 miles) of white sand and clear, calm water!
The seaside town of Woodgate Beach is surrounded by a huge 20,000-hectare (about 49,000-acre) Burrum Coast National Park. This park has amazing views and lots of fun things to do. The beach itself is usually very calm because Fraser Island helps protect it from big waves.
A Look at Woodgate's Past
The traditional owners of the Woodgate area are the Dundaburra group, who are part of the Kabi people. They have a long history connected to this land.
A school called Woodgate State School opened way back in 1921, but it only stayed open for about a year, closing in 1922.
The public library at Woodgate Beach first opened its doors in 1993. It was updated a bit in 2009 to make it even better for everyone.

The number of people living in Woodgate has been growing over the years.

Learning and Local Services
There aren't any schools right in Woodgate itself. For primary school, kids usually go to Goodwood State School in the nearby town of Goodwood. For high school, students travel to Isis District State High School in Childers.
The Bundaberg Regional Council helps run a public library in the Community Centre. It's a great place to find books and learn new things.
If you like boating, there's a boat ramp at Walkers Point. This is where the Gregory River and Burrum River meet the sea. The Bundaberg Regional Council also looks after this boat ramp.
