Woodlyn is in the western part of Ridley Township. It has several neighbors. To the northeast is Folsom, another part of Ridley Township. To the east is the town of Ridley Park.

To the south, you'll find the town of Eddystone. The city of Chester is to the southwest. To the west is Nether Providence Township. Finally, to the north are Springfield Township and the town of Swarthmore.

Two major highways, Interstate 476 and Interstate 95, meet in the southern part of Woodlyn. These roads help people travel easily. Woodlyn is about 14 miles (22.5 km) southwest of Center City, Philadelphia.
