Woolmar's Location and Landscape

Woolmar is situated right next to the town of Kilcoy, just to its west. A small part of its eastern border is marked by the Kilcoy Creek. If you head west in Woolmar, you'll find higher land, with some areas reaching over 400 meters (about 1,300 feet) above sea level. The D'Aguilar Highway, an important road, also runs through Woolmar, making it easy to travel to nearby towns.

  • Woolmar Provisional School: This school first opened its doors on March 8, 1894. It later became Woolmar State School on January 1, 1909. The school had to close temporarily a couple of times, in 1931 and 1940, before closing for good on April 14, 1941. The old school was located at 5615 D'Aguilar Highway.
  • Gregor's Creek Provisional School: Another school, Gregor's Creek Provisional School, started on February 14, 1896. Like Woolmar School, it also became a State School on January 1, 1909. This school served the community until it closed in December 1963. Its former location was at 1095 Gregors Creek Road, which is now part of Woolmar.
