What is Yumeiro Patissiere About?

Ichigo's Sweet Adventure Begins

The first part of the story is called Yumeiro Patissiere. It follows 14-year-old Ichigo Amano. Her name means "strawberry." Ichigo is a bit clumsy and doesn't have many talents. But she loves eating sweets, especially cakes!

One day, she goes to a Sweets Festival. There, she meets a teacher named Henri-sensei. He notices how good Ichigo is at tasting sweets. He invites her to join St. Marie Academy. This is a special school for people who want to become pastry chefs, called pâtissières.

Learning and Growing at St. Marie Academy

At first, Ichigo finds it hard to fit in at the academy. But she gets help from three "Sweets Princes." They are Makoto Kashino, Satsuki Hanabusa, and Sennosuke Andou. She also gets help from tiny "Sweets Spirits" named Vanilla, Chocolate, Caramel, and Cafe.

With their help, Ichigo becomes more confident. She also gets better at making sweets. Her goal is to become a great pâtissière. Throughout the anime, Ichigo and the Sweets Princes try to win the Grand Prix. The winners get to go to Paris! Ichigo learns a lot and improves her skills quickly.

Becoming a Professional Pastry Chef

The second part of the story is called Yumeiro Patissiere Professional. It takes place two years later. Ichigo is now 16 years old. She has studied in Paris and is a professional pâtissière.

When she returns to Japan, her old team starts to break up. Hanabusa and Andou take time off school to work on their dreams. This leaves only Ichigo and Kashino. Kashino even skipped a grade because he was so good in Paris.

Soon, Henri-sensei forms a new "Team Ichigo" for a special project. This team includes Lemon Yamagishi, Johnny McBeal, Makoto Kashino, and Ichigo Amano. They now work as professionals to achieve their dreams at St. Marie Garden.
