Yury Aleksandrovich Dud (Russian: Ю́рий Алекса́ндрович Дудь, also spelled Yuri Dud; born 11 October 1986) is a journalist from Russia. He is very well known for his online videos on YouTube. He creates informational videos and interviews.

Early Life and Family
Yury Dud was born on October 11, 1986, in Potsdam, which was then in East Germany. His father, Alexander Petrovich Dud, was a professor. His mother, Anna Stepanovna Dud, was a chemistry teacher.
In 1990, when Yury was four years old, his family moved to Moscow, Russia. He has lived in Russia ever since. He feels connected to both Ukrainian and Russian cultures.
Career Journey
Starting in Journalism
When Yury was a child, he loved playing football and dreamed of becoming a goalkeeper. However, he had to stop playing because of asthma. This love for sports led him to become interested in sports journalism.
In 2001, Dud began working as a writer for the Russian newspaper Izvestia. He was a freelance journalist, meaning he worked on projects without being a full-time employee. By the age of 16, he became a full-time staff journalist. In 2007, he started working for the sports magazine PROSPORT.ru. He also graduated from the MSU Faculty of Journalism in 2008.
From 2011 to 2013, Dud hosted a TV show called Headbutt (Удар головой) on the channel Russia-2. Later, from 2015 to 2017, he hosted another show called KultTura (КультТура) on the new TV channel Match TV. This show stopped airing because not enough people watched it.

In February 2020, Dud released HIV in Russia: An Epidemic No One Talks About. This film received over 13 million views in its first week. Dud's team wanted to show people how to avoid becoming part of the statistics, as over one million people in Russia live with HIV. During the making of the film, they realized that people living with HIV often face judgment and unfair treatment.
After the film came out, a politician named Fedot Tumusov arranged for it to be shown in the State Duma (a part of the Russian government). He hoped it would encourage other leaders to work on this issue. The head of the Audit Chamber of Russia, Alexei Kudrin, asked his team to look closely at how people with HIV are supported in the country. After the film was released, searches for HIV tests in Russia increased greatly. The number of people wanting to get tested for HIV also doubled.
How the World's IT Capital Works
In April 2020, a film about Russian-speaking business people in Silicon Valley was released. Many of these people, like Mikita Mikado and Andrey Doronichev from Google, were not widely known in Russia before the film. They became famous overnight, with thousands of new followers on social media. The film was mostly praised. However, some people felt it made the business world in Silicon Valley seem too easy, as it didn't show the difficulties and failures that can happen.

In December 2021, a film about violence in modern-day Russia was released. In this film, Dud interviews people who have experienced violence, as well as human rights activists. The film highlights the issue of violence in Russian prisons that often goes unnoticed and uninvestigated. Victims often find it hard to take legal action against those who harm them. Even when cases are opened, the people responsible are often not found guilty.

On April 11, 2022, a film called Человек во время войны (English: Man in War) was released. This film is about the work of volunteers who help people seeking safety from the conflict in Ukraine. It is based on Yury Dud's research into this important topic.

Yury Dud is married to Olga Dud (her maiden name was Boneva). They have two children.
In February 2022, after Russia began its actions in Ukraine, Yury Dud spoke out against it. He publicly asked for Russian troops to leave Ukraine. His social media post against the conflict received over 1 million likes. Dud described the events as an "imperial frenzy" that he did not want to be a part of. Because of his anti-conflict posts, a request was made to the Russian authorities to label him as a "foreign agent". On April 15, he was officially given this label by the Ministry of Justice. However, he had already left Russia to continue his work from Istanbul.
