Yutan is a small city located in Saunders County, Nebraska, in the United States. It is found along a stream called Upper Clear Creek, close to the Platte River.

History of Yutan
Yutan was first known as Clear Creek. This name was used when the town was planned out in 1876. At that time, a railway called the Omaha and Republican Valley Railroad reached this area.
In 1884, the town's name was changed to Yutan. It was named after a respected Otoe Indian chief named Ietan.

Yutan is a small city, covering about 0.53 square miles (1.49 square kilometers). All of this area is land. The city does not have any large bodies of water within its borders.

What the 2010 Census Showed
In 2010, a count of the population, called a census, showed that 1,174 people lived in Yutan. These people lived in 432 households, and 324 of these were families.
The city had about 2,215 people per square mile. Most of the people living in Yutan were White (98.0%). A small number were African American (0.9%), Native American (0.1%), or Asian (0.1%). Some people were from other backgrounds (0.4%) or a mix of two or more (0.5%). About 1.9% of the population was Hispanic or Latino.
Many households (41.7%) had children under 18 living there. More than half (56.5%) were married couples. Some households had a female head without a husband (12.0%), or a male head without a wife (6.5%). About 25.0% of households were not families.
