Yvon Landry Mvogo Nganoma (born on June 6, 1994) is a professional footballer. He plays as a goalkeeper. Yvon was born in Cameroon. He plays for the Switzerland national team.

Playing for Clubs

Early Career and First Team

Yvon Mvogo was born in Yaoundé, Cameroon. He started his professional football journey on August 17, 2013. This was in a Swiss Cup match against Veyrier. He played the whole game, and his team won 8-0. He wore the number 18 jersey.

Moving to RB Leipzig

In April 2017, it was announced that Mvogo would join Leipzig. This club plays in the Bundesliga, which is Germany's top football league. He signed a four-year contract. He officially joined them on July 1, 2017.

Loan to PSV Eindhoven

On August 25, 2020, Mvogo moved to PSV in the Netherlands. He joined them on a two-year loan deal. He played many games for PSV during this time.

Joining FC Lorient

After his loan at PSV, Mvogo signed a two-year contract with Lorient. This French club plays in Ligue 1, France's top league. He joined them on July 14, 2022. As of May 2025, Lorient was relegated to Ligue 2.

Playing for His Country

Starting with Switzerland

Yvon Mvogo first joined the Switzerland senior national team in June 2015. This was for a qualifying match for the UEFA Euro 2016 tournament. He was also part of Switzerland's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He played his first game for the national team on October 15, 2018. This was against Iceland in a 2018–19 UEFA Nations League group match.

Major Tournaments

In May 2019, he was chosen for the 2019 UEFA Nations League Finals. However, he did not play in any of the matches. Switzerland finished fourth in that tournament. In 2021, he was called up for the 2020 UEFA European Championship. In this tournament, Switzerland surprised many by reaching the quarter-finals.

Recent National Team Appearances

Mvogo returned to the Switzerland national team in September 2023. He played in matches against Andorra and Romania. These games were part of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualification matches. He has continued to play for the national team in 2024 and 2025.
