Aaron Matthew Moorehead (born November 5, 1980) is an American football coach. He used to be a wide receiver player in the National Football League (NFL). Today, he is the wide receivers coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. Before joining the Eagles, he coached at several universities. These included Vanderbilt University and Texas A&M University.

Moorehead played college football at Illinois. He joined the Indianapolis Colts in 2003. He played for the Colts for five years, from 2003 to 2007. During this time, he helped his team win Super Bowl XLI against the Chicago Bears.

Aaron Moorehead's Early Life

Aaron Moorehead grew up in Deerfield, Illinois. He went to Deerfield High School. There, he was a star in both football and track. In his final year, he showed off his speed. He placed fourth in the state meet for the 110m High Hurdles. His fastest time was 14.06 seconds.

Playing in the NFL

Aaron Moorehead joined the Indianapolis Colts on May 5, 2003. He played as a wide receiver. During his career, he caught 31 passes. These catches gained 330 yards. He also scored one touchdown. In the 2006 postseason, he made 5 catches. These catches gained 41 yards. After the 2007 season, he became a free agent. This meant he could sign with any team.

From Player to Coach

After his playing career, Aaron Moorehead became a coach. In 2009, he started as a graduate assistant coach. This was for the offense at the University of New Mexico. He then coached wide receivers at several major universities. These included Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech. He also worked as an assistant wide receivers coach at Stanford University.

On February 6, 2020, Moorehead joined the Philadelphia Eagles. He became their wide receivers coach. In 2020, he missed a game against the Cleveland Browns. This was due to health protocols related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Family and Football

Aaron Moorehead comes from a family of football players. His father is Emery Moorehead. Emery was also an NFL player. He played for twelve seasons. He won Super Bowl XX with the Chicago Bears. Aaron and his father have a special achievement. They are one of only a few father-and-son duos to both win a Super Bowl. Other famous duos include Bob and Brian Griese, and Ronnie Lott and Ryan Nece. Aaron is also the cousin of Brad Daugherty. Brad was a professional NBA basketball player.
