Amanda Park is a small community in Grays Harbor County, Washington, United States. It's located on the Olympic Peninsula, a large piece of land that sticks out into the Pacific Ocean. This area is known for its beautiful nature.

Amanda Park is considered a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a special area defined by the government for counting people, but it's not an official city or town with its own local government.

You can find Amanda Park along U.S. Route 101, a major highway. It's very close to Olympic National Park and Lake Quinault, which are popular spots for visitors. In 2010, about 252 people lived in Amanda Park.

Exploring Amanda Park's Location

Amanda Park is situated near the northern edge of Grays Harbor County. It sits right on the Quinault River, where the river flows out of Lake Quinault. This area is also part of the Quinault Indian Nation's land.

How to Get Around

U.S. Route 101 goes right through the middle of Amanda Park. If you head northwest on this highway, you'll reach Queets on the Pacific coast, about 25 miles away. Going south for about 43 miles will take you to Aberdeen.

Gateway to Nature

The Quinault Valley entrance to Olympic National Park is easy to get to from Amanda Park. You just take North Shore Road, which branches off U.S. 101 at the northern part of the community.

Land and Water Area

The U.S. Census Bureau says that Amanda Park covers a total area of about 22.0 square kilometers (about 8.5 square miles). Most of this area, 21.3 square kilometers (8.2 square miles), is land. The rest, about 0.7 square kilometers (0.3 square miles), is water, mainly from the river and lake.

Understanding Amanda Park's Weather

Amanda Park is famous for its rainy weather! It gets a lot of rain because it's so close to the Pacific Ocean. On average, it receives about 129.28 inches of rain each year. This makes it one of the wettest places in Washington state.

Climate Type

Even with all that rain, Amanda Park has a special kind of climate called a warm-summer Mediterranean climate. This means that while it gets a lot of rain overall, especially in winter, it has a noticeably drier period in July. This is classified as a Köppen Csb climate.
