André Weinfeld is a French and American filmmaker. He was born on April 6, 1947. He has worked as a producer, director, and writer for movies and TV shows. He is also a talented photographer and journalist.

Early Life and Education
André Weinfeld's father, Jean Weinfeld, was an architect. André studied psychology and French literature at Sorbonne University in Paris. After that, he was accepted into a well-known French film school called Institut des hautes études cinématographiques (IDHEC).
Working in France
Starting in Film and TV
Weinfeld began his career as a camera operator. He then became a cinematographer, which means he was in charge of the camera and lighting. He worked on many short and full-length films. These included movies from the "French New Wave" movement. He worked with famous directors like Philippe Garrel and Jean Eustache.
By the age of 19, Weinfeld became one of the youngest TV directors and producers in France.
Reporting and Music
For ten years, Weinfeld directed and produced over 70 weekly news and documentary programs. He also created special TV shows for French networks. He reported on fashion and the exciting rock and pop music scenes of the 1960s and 1970s. He visited "Swinging London" and the United States.
He covered big music events like the Monterey International Pop Festival and the Woodstock Festival. He worked with many major musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Cream, The Who, Pink Floyd, and Johnny Hallyday.
War Correspondent and First Film
Later, Weinfeld worked as a War correspondent. He reported from places like Israel, Syria, Egypt, and Lebanon during conflicts. He also reported from Saigon during the Vietnam War.
After serving in the French Army Cinema Service, Weinfeld joined an advertising agency. In 1976, he wrote and directed his first short film, La Bonne Nouvelle (The Good News). This film won a major award at the International London Film Festival. It was later shown in France by Warner-Columbia.
Screenwriting Work
Weinfeld also worked as a screenwriter for several French films. One of these was La Clé sur la porte (1978). This movie starred French actors Patrick Dewaere and Annie Girardot.
Working in America
Moving to Hollywood
In 1977, Weinfeld met actress Raquel Welch in Paris. He then decided to move to Hollywood to be with her. He started his own company for film production and video distribution.
He produced, wrote, and directed a TV special called "From Raquel With Love" in 1980. This show featured Raquel Welch, Mickey Rooney, and Douglas Fairbanks Jr..
Live Shows and Broadway
Weinfeld produced all of Raquel Welch's live concerts and national tours. These shows took place in cities like Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, and Atlantic City. He also helped produce the Broadway Musical Woman of the Year. This musical was created by Fred Ebb and John Kander.
Photography and Fitness
Weinfeld is also a commercial and editorial photographer. His photos have appeared in many famous magazines around the world. These include Life, Newsweek, Time, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar. His pictures have also been used in advertising campaigns for Hasselblad cameras.
In 1984, he published and photographed Raquel Welch's fitness book, Total Beauty and Fitness. He also produced and directed her collection of fitness and yoga videos.

André Weinfeld married actress Raquel Welch in 1980. They later divorced in 1990. He then married Jaimie Lilly and they had a son. They divorced in 1999.
