Starting Out in Football
Andre Wisdom was born in Leeds, England. His parents are from Jamaica. He grew up in a place called Chapeltown. He went to Abbey Grange Church of England Academy. As a young player, he was very good in the junior teams at Bradford City. He often played in age groups older than his own.
In January 2008, when he was 14, he signed with Liverpool. This was a big move for a young player from a lower league team.
Playing for Liverpool

This was for a League Cup match against Northampton Town. In 2011, he signed a new contract with Liverpool. This showed how much the club believed in his progress.
First Team Chances (2012–13)
When Brendan Rodgers became manager in June 2012, it gave Wisdom new chances. In September, he traveled with other young Liverpool players to Switzerland. They were playing against Young Boys in the UEFA Europa League. He started the game and even scored a goal on his debut. Liverpool won the match 5–3.
His great performance led to more first-team games. He started in a 2–1 win against West Bromwich Albion in the League Cup. Three days later, he made his first Premier League appearance. This was in a 5–2 away win against Norwich City. He kept his spot in the team for the next month. He played his first game at Anfield in a 0–0 draw with Stoke City. They beat Czech Republic, Greece, and Turkey.
England then beat France 2–1 in the semi-final. This put them in the final. Wisdom started the final against Spain. He scored a goal with a header from a corner kick. England went on to win the tournament for the first time ever. This success with the youth teams gave hope for the future of English football.
England Under-19s
After his success with the younger teams, Wisdom continued to move up. He joined Noel Blake's Under-19 squad in the 2010–11 season. He made his debut against Slovakia in October. England Under-21s
In September 2011, Wisdom was named in the England Under-21 squad. This was for a qualification match and a friendly game. He made his debut at right back against Israel in a 4–1 win. This was even before he had played for Liverpool's senior team. He returned to the squad a year later but had to withdraw due to a shoulder injury.
In 2013, Wisdom became captain of the England U21 team. In his first game as captain, he was sent off for kicking an opponent. After a four-match ban, he did not return to the squad.
