Anières is a small town, called a municipality, in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland. People from Anières are known as the "Aniérois". It is known for having some of the most expensive homes in the Geneva region.

History of Anières
Anières was first mentioned in old records way back in 1179. It became its own independent town in 1858. Before that, it was part of a nearby place called Corsier.
Geography of Anières
Anières covers about 3.86 square kilometers (1.49 square miles). Most of this land, about 63.2%, is used for farming. About 4.7% of the area is covered by forests.
Around 31.1% of Anières is built up with buildings and roads. A very small part, about 0.3%, is made up of rivers or lakes.
The town is located on the left side of Lake Geneva. Two rivers, the Hermance and the Nant-d'Aisy, flow along its borders. Anières includes the main village and smaller areas called hamlets, like Bassy and Chevrens.
The municipality is also divided into smaller sections. These include Anières - lac (lake), Anières - Hutins, Chevrens, Anières - douane (customs), and Anières - village.
Population and People in Anières
Anières has a population of 2,381. About 25.9% of the people living here are foreign nationals. Over the last ten years, the population has grown by about 15.5%.
Most people in Anières speak French, about 77.7% of the population. English is the second most common language, spoken by 8.2% of residents. German is third, spoken by 4.6%.
In 2008, about 49.6% of the population was male and 50.4% was female. Many people were born in Anières or elsewhere in Switzerland. About 31.4% of the residents were born outside Switzerland.
The age groups in Anières show that children and teenagers (0–19 years old) make up 28.4% of the population. Adults (20–64 years old) are the largest group at 57.9%. Seniors (over 64 years old) make up 13.8%.
In 2000, there were 682 private homes in Anières. On average, there were 2.7 people living in each home. About 20.3% of homes had only one person living in them.

Education in Anières
