Antal Zalai (born January 31, 1981) is a famous Hungarian violin player. He is known as a concert violinist, which means he performs classical music for audiences around the world.
Antal Zalai started playing the violin when he was just five years old. He studied classical music and became very skilled. Later, he went to the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and learned from great teachers like Kati Sebestyén. Before that, he had other teachers in Budapest. He also attended special classes called masterclasses with famous violinists like Isaac Stern and Pinchas Zukerman.

Early Career and Big Performances
When Antal Zalai was 15, he became known internationally. He played a difficult piece called the Bartók Violin Concerto No.1. This was at a special concert to celebrate the 80th birthday of Lord Yehudi Menuhin, another very famous violinist. The concert took place in Budapest in 1996.
Throughout his career, Antal Zalai has worked with many important conductors. These are the people who lead orchestras. Some of them include Fabio Luisi, Paavo Järvi, and Shlomo Mintz.
Debuts in Major Cities
Antal Zalai made his first performance in the UK in 2008. He played in Liverpool with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic orchestra. He also had his first performance in Berlin that same year. He played the Glazunov Violin Concerto with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin at the Berliner Philharmonie.
In 2010, Antal Zalai performed for the first time in Vienna, Austria. He played in a special gala concert with the Vienna Symphony orchestra. He actually won this chance to perform through an online competition!

As a solo performer, Antal Zalai has played in many famous concert halls. These include the Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C..
