Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (born July 15, 1950) is a well-known Greek American writer and businesswoman. She is famous for starting The Huffington Post, a popular online news website. She also founded and leads a company called Thrive Global. Arianna Huffington has written 15 books.

She has been recognized by Time magazine as one of the world's 100 most influential people. Forbes magazine has also listed her among the Most Powerful Women. She serves on the boards of several important organizations, like Onex and Global Citizen.

Arianna Huffington was born Ariadnē-Anna Stasinopoúlou in Athens, Greece, in 1950. Her father, Konstantinos, was a journalist. Her mother was Elli Stasinopoulou. She has a sister named Agapi, who is also an author.

When she was 16, Arianna moved to the United Kingdom. She studied economics at Girton College, Cambridge. She made history there by becoming the first foreign student and third woman to be president of the Cambridge Union. This is a famous debating society. She also studied in India, which she says holds a special place in her heart.

In the 1970s, Arianna started writing books. She had help from a close friend and mentor, Bernard Levin. They traveled together for the BBC and enjoyed exploring different places. In 1980, she moved to New York City.
