Aurach bei Kitzbühel (which sounds like Aurach bei Kitzbichi in the local dialect) is a small town, also called a municipality, in the Kitzbühel Alps mountain range. It's located in the Tyrol region of Austria.

Aurach is about 5 kilometers (3 miles) south of the larger town of Kitzbühel. It sits right by the Kitzbühler Ache river. The main road through Aurach leads towards Thurn Pass. The municipality is split into different areas like Unteraurach and Oberaurach. There are also smaller groups of houses called hamlets, such as Haberberg and Kochau.

A Glimpse into Aurach's History

Aurach was first mentioned in old documents way back in 1289. At that time, it was called Orwiorwe. For a long time, Aurach was part of the Kitzbühel district. However, in 1833, it became its own independent municipality. This meant it could manage its own local affairs.

One important historical site is an old mine. This mine is located in the area known as the Kelchalm. It played a role in the region's past.

Aurach's Amazing Wildlife Park

Aurach is home to a fantastic wildlife park. It's located high up in the mountains, at about 1,100 meters (3,600 feet) above sea level. This park is a great place to see many different animals.

You can find animals that live in the Alps here. These include red deer, ibex (a type of wild goat), mouflon (wild sheep), wild boar, and even lynx. The park also has animals from other mountain regions around the world. You might spot fallow deer, sika deer, llama, and yak. It's a wonderful way to learn about different animal species.
