Aurach was first mentioned in old documents way back in 1289. At that time, it was called Orwiorwe. For a long time, Aurach was part of the Kitzbühel district. However, in 1833, it became its own independent municipality. This meant it could manage its own local affairs.
One important historical site is an old mine. This mine is located in the area known as the Kelchalm. It played a role in the region's past.
Aurach's Amazing Wildlife Park

The park also has animals from other mountain regions around the world. You might spot fallow deer, sika deer, llama, and yak. It's a wonderful way to learn about different animal species.
