Batesville is a city located in Panola County, Mississippi, in the United States. In 2020, about 7,523 people lived here. This was a small increase from the 7,463 people counted in 2010.
Batesville is special because it is one of two "county seats" for Panola County. A county seat is like the main town where the county government offices are. There are two because of an old friendly rivalry between towns on different sides of the Tallahatchie River. The other county seat is Sardis.
