Bennett Spring is a small community in Missouri, United States. It is located in both Dallas and Laclede counties. This area is known as an "unincorporated community." This means it does not have its own local government like a city or town. It is also a "census-designated place" (CDP). This is a special area defined by the government for counting people.
As of 2020, about 138 people lived here. Bennett Spring is about 12 miles (19 km) west of Lebanon. It is famous for its large natural spring. This spring is one of the biggest in Missouri. It flows with about 100 million gallons of water every day! This amazing spring is the main feature of Bennett Spring State Park.
About Bennett Spring's Location
Bennett Spring is located near where the Bennett Spring Branch stream meets the Niangua River. The Niangua River flows north into Lake of the Ozarks. This lake is part of the larger Osage River system. The Osage River eventually flows into the Missouri River. The spring itself is about one mile south of the community. It is found within the boundaries of the state park.

Bennett Spring State Park is one of Missouri's special "trout parks." These parks are famous for trout fishing. Bennett Spring has the largest spring among these four parks.

A Bit of History
Long ago, Bennett Spring had a different name. It was called "Brice." This name came from James Brice. He owned a local watermill there. A post office opened in 1900 under the name Brice. The name was changed to Bennett Springs in 1939. The post office eventually closed in 1966.
