The Big Blue Hills are a group of low mountains in central California, in a place called Fresno County. They are part of the western San Joaquin Valley and are known for their gentle slopes.

These hills are located in the middle of California. A major highway, Interstate 5, runs right next to them on the east side.

Exploring the Geography of Big Blue Hills

The Big Blue Hills are part of a larger system of mountains called the Southern Inner California Coast Ranges. They sit right next to another mountain range, the Diablo Range, on their western side.

How Tall Are the Big Blue Hills?

The highest point in the Big Blue Hills reaches about 564 metres (1,850 ft) above sea level. This makes them a lower mountain range compared to some of the taller peaks in California.

Natural Divisions and Neighboring Hills

A natural feature called Cantua Creek helps divide the Big Blue Hills from another nearby range. This creek flows through a canyon known as Arroyo de Cantúa, separating the Big Blue Hills from the Ciervo Hills.
