In 2012, a big music website called WorldStarHipHop recognized Bishop Nehru. They named him the "Youth Rap Talent of the Week." He also got attention from major radio stations like Hot97.com and Power 105.1. In 2013, he even opened shows for the famous group Wu-Tang Clan during their tour in Europe.
At 16, Bishop Nehru released his first mixtape, Nehruvia. It had 13 songs and featured music made by famous producers like DJ Premier, Madlib, and MF Doom. He then released another mixtape called strictlyFLOWz. This one was supported by New York radio host Peter Rosenberg and the UK's DJ Semtex.

On May 22, 2014, it was shared that Bishop Nehru was one of the first artists to sign with Nas's record label, Mass Appeal Records. A few weeks later, on June 5, 2014, Bishop Nehru and Dizzy Wright released a free music collection called BrILLiant Youth EP.
On October 7, 2014, Bishop Nehru and MF Doom released their joint album, NehruvianDoom. They released it under the combined name "Nehruviandoom."

Musical Influences
Bishop Nehru gets inspiration from many artists. Some of his biggest influences include Michael Jackson, Nas, 2Pac, MF Doom, Kanye West, and Wu-Tang Clan. He also looks up to musicians like Herbie Hancock, 50 Cent, Eminem, Pharrell Williams, ASAP Rocky, Tyler, The Creator, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Linkin Park, and Incubus.
He chose his stage name from two different sources. "Bishop" comes from a character in the movie Juice. This character inspires him to work hard and earn respect. "Nehru" comes from Jawaharlal Nehru, who was the first prime minister of India. Jawaharlal Nehru worked closely with Mahatma Gandhi.
