Blakeview is a suburb located north of Adelaide in South Australia. It is part of the City of Playford. Blakeview is mainly a place where people live. It also has two shopping areas and two places for education.

Where is Blakeview?
Blakeview is found northeast of Elizabeth. It is on the east side of Main North Road. Across the road are the suburbs of Smithfield and Munno Para. The oldest part of Blakeview has shops and medical services along Main North Road.
The newer area called Blakes Crossing also has shops. Blakeview became a suburb in 1990. It was created from parts of Smithfield and Munno Para.
Who Lives in Blakeview?
In 2016, about 7,229 people lived in Blakeview. Slightly more than half were girls. Most people (77%) were born in Australia. Other common birthplaces included England, Scotland, India, New Zealand, and the Philippines.
The average age of people in Blakeview was 29 years old. About a quarter of the population (24.9%) were kids aged 0-14. People aged 65 and over made up 6.8% of the population.
Blakes Crossing Community
In 2009, a company called Delfin (now Lendlease) started building a new community. This area is called Blakes Crossing. It covers about 88 hectares (217 acres) east of Main North Road.
Blakes Crossing was planned carefully. It has a special look and feel. This makes it different from the older parts of Blakeview. Houses built here follow certain rules. These rules are about how the houses look. They also control where things like clotheslines and TV antennas can go. This helps keep the community looking neat.
Delfin/Lendlease used similar rules for other communities. These include West Lakes, Golden Grove, and Mawson Lakes.
Schools in Blakeview
Blakeview has several schools. Blakeview Primary School is on Omega Drive. Next to it is Trinity College Blakeview. Craigmore High School is also nearby. There is also a preschool centre across the road.
Blakes Crossing Christian College opened in 2014. It started with students from reception to year 5. The school plans to grow to include year 12. It aims to have 700 students in total. The school is now in its own buildings. It is close to the Blakes Crossing shops and parks.

Parks and Playgrounds
Blakeview has many parks and reserves. You can find them along Smith Creek and Main Terrace. Many of these parks have playground equipment for kids.
Shopping Areas
There is a shopping area on Main Terrace. It has two supermarkets. You can also find food places, a butcher, and a newsagent. There are medical services and a bottle shop too.
Another shopping area is on Main North Road. It has a fuel station, health services, and other shops. There is also another fuel station further north on Main North Road.
Getting Around Blakeview
Blakeview is connected to the Adelaide city centre by Main North Road.
Public transport services run through Blakeview. These services are run by Adelaide Metro. They can take you to Elizabeth, Smithfield, and Munno Para. You can also get to the Adelaide CBD. There is also a school bus to Roma Mitchell Secondary College.
