Bloomfield Township is a special kind of local government called a charter township in Oakland County, Michigan. It's a northern suburb of Detroit, about 20 miles (32 km) northwest of the city center. In 2020, about 44,253 people lived here.
Bloomfield Township was created in 1827. This makes it the oldest township in Oakland County. It is also known for having some of the highest home prices in Michigan.

Golf and Skating
The Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township is famous for golf. It has hosted many big professional golf events, including six U.S. Opens and the 2004 Ryder Cup.

Public Schools
Most students in the township go to schools in the Bloomfield Hills School District (BHS). However, some parts of the township are in the Birmingham Public Schools (BPS) or the Avondale School District. A small part is also in the Pontiac School District.
The main high school for the Bloomfield Hills School District is Bloomfield Hills High School. It was created in 2013 when two other high schools, Andover and Lahser, joined together.
Students in different parts of the township attend various elementary and middle schools, leading to different high schools like Seaholm High School or Groves High School in the Birmingham Public Schools district. Students in the Avondale School District attend schools in nearby Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills.
