Boynedale is a small rural area, also called a locality, in the Gladstone Region of Queensland, Australia. It's a quiet place with very few people living there. In 2021, only 13 people called Boynedale home.

Geography of Boynedale
A big part of Boynedale's northern border is formed by Lake Awoonga. This lake was created when the Awoonga Dam was built across the Boyne River. So, the lake is actually the Boyne River that has been dammed up.
History of Boynedale
How Boynedale Got Its Name
The name Boynedale comes from the Boyne River. This river was named way back on November 14, 1823, by a surveyor named John Oxley. He named it while exploring on a ship called the HM Mermaid.
The Old Railway Line
A railway line, called the Gladstone to Monto railway line, used to run through Boynedale. The first part of this line opened on July 25, 1910. There was even a train station in Boynedale, which served the area. The station closed on December 8, 1997. The whole railway line stopped regular services in 2002. The very last train on the line was a special steam train in 2005.
When Boynedale Became Official
Boynedale was officially named and its boundaries were set on August 27, 1999.

In 2016, there were 17 people living in Boynedale. By 2021, the population had slightly decreased to 13 people.

Boynedale has one special place that is listed as a heritage site. This means it's an important historical location. It's called Glengarry Homestead and is located on the Gladstone–Monto Road.

The closest primary school is Nagoorin State School. It's located in Nagoorin, which is in the neighbouring area of Boyne Valley to the south.
For high school, students usually go to Gladstone State High School in West Gladstone. This school is to the north of Boynedale.
However, a new high school, Calliope State High School, opened in Calliope in 2020. This school is also to the north. It will offer education up to Year 10 by 2022 and up to Year 12 by 2024. Once it's fully running, it will be closer for Boynedale students than Gladstone State High School.
