A Look Back: Buckman's History
Buckman got its start when a post office opened here in 1877. The city was named after Clarence B. Buckman. He was an early settler in the area. He also served in the United States House of Representatives, which is a part of the U.S. government that makes laws for the country.

Getting Around Buckman
Two main roads help people travel in and out of Buckman. These are Minnesota State Highway 25 and Morrison County Road 34.
- Highway 25 goes north about 7 miles to Pierz. It also goes southeast about 23 miles to Foley.
- County Road 34, also known as 93rd Street, heads west about 11 miles to U.S. Route 10. From there, you can go north about 6 miles to Little Falls. Little Falls is the main town, or county seat, for Morrison County.
