How CNN Chile Started and Grew
CNN Chile became partners with a free-to-air TV network called Chilevisión in 2010. This happened when Turner Broadcasting System bought Chilevisión. At that time, Chilevisión was owned by the family of Sebastián Piñera, who later became the President of Chile.
In 2016, Turner Broadcasting System Latin America bought out VTR's share in CNN Chile. This meant Turner became the full owner of the channel. This change made CNN Chile even more connected to the larger CNN family.
