Calhoun City is a town located in Calhoun County, Mississippi, United States. It is a small community in the southern part of Calhoun County. In 2020, about 1,533 people lived there.

Geography and Location
Calhoun City is found in the south-central part of Calhoun County. The town of Derma is right next to it on the east side.
Two main roads, Mississippi Highway 9 and Mississippi Highway 8, run through the town. Highway 9 goes north 6 miles (10 km) to Pittsboro, which is the county seat. It continues another 10 miles (16 km) north to Bruce.
Highway 8 heads east from Calhoun City 8 miles (13 km) to Vardaman. It then goes 18 miles (29 km) further to Houston. Both highways also travel south from the town together. Highway 9 leads 9 miles (14 km) south to Slate Springs. Highway 8 goes 31 miles (50 km) south and then west to Grenada.
The town covers a total area of about 2.37 square miles (6.15 km2). Most of this, 2.36 square miles (6.11 km2), is land. A small part, 0.02 square miles (0.04 km2), is water. The Yalobusha River, which flows into the Yazoo River, passes about a mile south of the town center.
Climate
Calhoun City has a climate typical of Mississippi. It experiences warm summers and mild winters. The area gets a good amount of rain throughout the year.
