Cambridge is a suburb located near Hobart, the capital city of Tasmania, Australia. It's part of the City of Clarence local government area. Cambridge is very close to Hobart International Airport and the Cambridge Aerodrome (which is also an airport). It's about 18 kilometers (11 miles) from Hobart if you travel on the Tasman Highway.
In recent years, Cambridge has grown a lot. It now has an industrial area with many businesses. This has made it a popular place for people to live who work in Hobart.
Who Lives in Cambridge?
In 2016, a survey called the Census counted 1,161 people living in Cambridge. Most people, about 87.6%, were born in Australia. Also, a large number, 95.1%, spoke only English at home.
When asked about their religion, the most common answers were:
- No Religion: 36.1%
- Anglican: 23.7%
- Catholic: 23.5%
