Where is Carmichael?
Carmichael is located in California, specifically in Sacramento County. It covers an area of about 13.8 square miles (35.7 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
Carmichael's History

Carmichael was founded by Daniel W. Carmichael. He moved to California in 1885. In 1909, he started "Carmichael Colony No. I." This was a large area of land, about 2,000 acres, that used to be part of a Mexican land grant called Rancho San Juan.
Later, he bought another 1,000 acres. This land was part of another Mexican land grant called Rancho Del Paso. He named this new area "Carmichael Colony No. 2." It was next to the first colony.
The Casa de los Gobernadores was built in 1974. It was meant to be the official home for the Governor of California. However, no governor ever lived there. It was sold to private owners in 1983.
