What is Carters Ridge Like?
Carters Ridge is located next to the Mary River, which flows along its western side. The land here is used for two main things. Some areas have homes with lots of space, which is called "rural residential." Other parts are used for "grazing," meaning animals like cattle eat grass there. The land has a mix of natural plants and special fields where water is added to help grass grow.
A Look Back: History of Carters Ridge
The Old School
Long ago, Carters Ridge had its own school. It was called Carter's Ridge Provisional School and opened in May 1925. A few years later, in 1930, it became Carter's Ridge State School. However, the school closed its doors in 1967. The old school building was located on Kenilworth Skyring Creek Road.
