Châtonnaye is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It's located in the Glâne district, which is part of the Fribourg canton.

Châtonnaye was first written about in the year 1402. Back then, its name was spelled Chastonaye.

Châtonnaye covers an area of about 6.3 square kilometers (2.4 square miles). A big part of this land, about 71%, is used for farming. Forests cover another 23% of the area. The remaining 6% is where buildings and roads are found.
