Cherryfield is a small town located in Washington County, Maine, United States. It sits right on the Narraguagus River. The town got its name from the many wild cherry trees that used to grow along the riverbanks.
In 2020, about 1,107 people lived in Cherryfield. The town proudly calls itself the "Blueberry Capital of the World" because of all the blueberries grown nearby. A special part of the town, about 75 acres along the river, is known as the Cherryfield Historic District. This area has many old buildings from the 1750s to the 1890s. Cherryfield was first settled around 1760.
