He first became known for producing the song "U.O.E.N.O." for rapper Rocko in 2013. This song was very popular, reaching number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. About Childish Major's Early Life
Markus Randle was born in Minnesota on July 4, 1991. He grew up in Edgefield, South Carolina. Music was a big part of his family. His mom sang in his grandfather's church, and his dad was also a rapper and producer.
Markus started making music beats in middle school using a program called FL Studios. He loved it so much that he left college to focus on becoming a music producer full-time.
Childish Major's Music Career
Childish Major moved from South Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2011. He wanted to become a record producer. When he first arrived in Atlanta, he worked with groups like Two-9 and Spillage Village. He also became friends with DJ Spinz, a producer from Atlanta.
DJ Spinz signed Childish Major to his music group, Hood Rich. This helped him get his first big chance to produce a song. He produced "U.O.E.N.O." for Rocko in 2013. This song was a huge hit, reaching number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Many other artists, like Kendrick Lamar and ASAP Rocky, made their own versions of the song. In 2013, Childish Major also produced songs for Young Jeezy and Juicy J.
Working with Other Artists
In 2014, Childish Major started making songs with rapper Matik Estrada. They released an album together called Community Service in 2015. This album included the song "Keep Running" with Big K.R.I.T.. During this time, Childish Major also produced music for artists like SZA, Big K.R.I.T., and EarthGang.
In July 2016, Childish Major released a song called "Happy Birthday" with Isaiah Rashad and SZA. Later that year, he helped produce the song "4 Your Eyez Only" for J. Cole's album.
Releasing His Own Music
In 2017, Childish Major released his first single, "Woo$ah." He followed this with another song, "Supply Luh," which was produced by J. Cole. "Supply Luh" was even featured on the TV show Insecure. These songs were part of his first mixtape, also called Woo$ah, which came out in December 2017. The mixtape featured other artists like 6lack and DRAM.
In 2018, Childish Major went on tour with Big K.R.I.T. and Billie Eilish. He released the song "Know Nothing," which was also used in the TV show Insecure. In December 2018, he released another song called "Shine."
In January 2019, he joined many artists for recording sessions for the album Revenge of the Dreamers III. This album was released by Dreamville Records. Childish Major also started working with the shoe company Reebok for their "Alter the Icons" campaign. He released several new songs in 2019, including "Naan," "Diet," and "Good Luh."
In August 2019, he released three more songs: "For You," "Feelings Hurt," and "No Sweat" with Ludacris. These songs were from his first studio album, Dirt Road Diamond, which came out on September 5, 2019. The album also featured artists like Olu from EarthGang and Buddy.
