The Story of Cola Cao
In 1945, two brothers-in-law, José María Ventura and José Ignacio Ferrero, created Cola Cao. They lived in Gràcia, a neighborhood in Barcelona, Spain. They made a special cocoa powder that could easily dissolve in liquids.
Early Advertising and Sports
In 1962, Cola Cao started showing its first TV ads. These ads used a catchy song that was already popular on the radio. In 1972, Cola Cao became a sponsor of the Spanish Olympic team. This led to their famous slogan, "Olympic food."
In the 1980s, a new version called "Cola Cao VIT" was made. It was an instant mix with extra vitamins. Later, in 1988, Cola Cao began supporting the Spanish Olympic Committee. This partnership continues even today.
