Colburn is a town and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. It is located about 2 miles (3.2 km) west of Catterick. In 2011, Colburn had a population of 4,860 people.

History of Colburn
The name Colburn comes from the first people who settled near a stream called Colburn Beck. It means "cold stream" or "cool, black stream." The word "burn" means a valley shaped by flowing water.
Colburn Hall, a historic building, is found on the edge of the old village. There is also a very old courthouse from the 1300s.
In 2018, the Broadway shopping area and Colburn Business Park had some issues with anti-social behaviour involving young people. To help make the area safer, the police put a special order in place. This order helps to manage public spaces and keep them peaceful for everyone.
What Colburn Does
The main shopping area in Colburn is called the Broadway precinct. Here you can find a Co-op shop and other local businesses. There is also a community library.
Colburn Business Park opened in 2008. It has many office spaces and buildings where different companies work.

Colburn is part of the Richmond (Yorks) area for the UK Parliament. The current Member of Parliament (MP) for this area is Rishi Sunak. An MP is a person elected by the public to represent them in the government.
