Comilla (Bengali: কুমিল্লা জেলা, Comilla Jela) is a district in Bangladesh. It is located about 100 kilometers southeast of Dhaka, the capital city. Comilla is a busy and important area in the country.

Comilla is a large district. It covers an area of about 3,146 square kilometers. In 2011, over 5.3 million people lived here. This makes it one of the more populated districts in Bangladesh.
Where is Comilla?
Comilla is surrounded by several other districts and even another country. To the north, you'll find Brahmanbaria and Narayanganj. To the south are Noakhali and Feni. To the west, it borders Munshiganj and Chandpur. On its eastern side, Comilla shares a border with Tripura, a state in India.
What's Special About Comilla?
Comilla is known for a few interesting things. One famous spot is the World War II cemetery in Mainamati. This cemetery is a peaceful place. It honors soldiers who lost their lives during the war.
