Copdock is a lovely village located in the county of Suffolk, England. It's part of the Babergh area. Long ago, it was its own small local government area called a civil parish. But now, Copdock is joined with the nearby village of Washbrook to form a larger parish called Copdock and Washbrook. In 1961, Copdock had a population of 399 people.

Where is Copdock Located?
Copdock is found about 4.8 kilometers (or 3 miles) south-west of the larger town of Ipswich. It used to be right on a main road, the old A12. However, after a new road system was built, including the A14 Ipswich bypass, the old A12 road through Copdock was closed off at one point.
How is Copdock Governed?
As mentioned, Copdock used to be a separate civil parish. A civil parish is the smallest unit of local government in England. It often has a parish council that looks after local matters like parks or village halls. On April 1, 1994, Copdock's civil parish was combined with the civil parish of Washbrook. This created the new, larger parish known as "Copdock and Washbrook."
What's Life Like in Copdock?
