Coraima Alejandra Torres Díaz (born June 6, 1973, in Valencia, Venezuela) is a famous actress known for her roles in telenovelas. Telenovelas are like long TV dramas, often with many episodes, popular in Latin America and other parts of the world.

Coraima Torres's Acting Journey

Early Career and Big Break

Coraima started her acting career in Venezuela in the late 1980s. Her first roles were in telenovelas called "Gardenia" and "Alondra." She quickly showed her talent.

In 1992, she got her first main role in the very popular telenovela "Kassandra." This show became a huge hit and was watched in over 100 countries! It made her a well-known face around the world.

Life and Work in Colombia

After "Kassandra," Coraima moved to Colombia. There, she starred in another telenovela called "Sueños y espejos" (which means "Dreams and Mirrors"). Her co-star in this show was the Colombian actor Nicolas Montero. They fell in love and got married in 1996. Coraima also became a mother to a son in 1994.

She continued to act in Colombia, which is now her home. She lives in Bogotá, the capital city of Colombia.

More Roles and International Success

Coraima also acted in a short TV series called "Geminis." She then returned to Venezuelan TV for the telenovela "Cambio de Piel" (meaning "Change of Skin").

Her acting journey took her to other countries too. She worked in Peru and Argentina, starring in three more telenovelas: "María Emilia," "Amor Latino" (meaning "Latin Love"), and "Soledad."

Some of her more recent telenovelas include "Amor del bueno" and "Lorena." In 2008, she played the character Camila in the Colombian telenovela "El Último Matrimonio Feliz." Camila was a woman learning to live life after leaving her husband. In 2012, she also appeared in "5 Viudas Sueltas."

"Kassandra"'s Global Impact

"Kassandra" was incredibly popular, especially in countries like FR Yugoslavia (now Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Macedonia) and Macedonia during the 1990s.

In 1997, Coraima visited these countries with her co-star Henry Soto, her husband, and her child. She was met by a huge crowd at the Belgrade airport, showing just how much her fans loved her. Even the famous musician Šaban Bajramović was there to welcome her! During their visit, they traveled to cities like Belgrade, Niš, and Novi Sad in Serbia, and later to Skopje, Bitola, and Ohrid in North Macedonia.
