The village of Cornish Flat is in the northeastern part of Cornish. It sits at the southern end of a valley. This valley is bordered by Cornish Stage Road to the west. To the east, you'll find New Hampshire Route 120. The northern part of this valley reaches into the town of Plainfield.
The Blow-me-down Brook starts in a swampy area at the valley's north end. Several smaller brooks flow into it from the surrounding hills. Route 120 connects Cornish Flat to Claremont in the south. It also links to Meriden and Lebanon to the north.
Village Green and Memorials
The center of Cornish Flat has a village green. Here, you can see a life-size statue of a Union soldier. It stands on a granite base. This base has the names of local soldiers who died in the American Civil War.
