Cryna's Past: A Look at Its History

The name "Cryna" comes from a large farm. This farm belonged to Charles Overend Garbutt in the 1870s. He was from England.

His farm, called Spring Creek, was very big. It was about 3,400 acres (1,376 hectares). In 1877, Garbutt decided to sell it. He was moving away from the area.

Harry and William Webb bought the farm next. They owned it until 1882. Later, in 1896, the Queensland Government bought the land. They divided it into smaller farms. This was done to help more people start farming.
