Dierrias J. Humphries Jr. (born December 28, 1993) is an American professional football player. He plays as an offensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League (NFL).
Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Florida Gators. Humphries was a top high school player. In 2011, he won the Anthony Muñoz Award. This award goes to the best lineman in high school football. The Arizona Cardinals picked him in the first round of the 2015 NFL draft. He played for the Cardinals for nine seasons.

Early Life and High School
D. J. Humphries grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He went to Mallard Creek High School. There, he was a talented athlete in three sports. He played football, basketball, and track.
In football, he was an All-American offensive lineman. He helped his team's running back gain over 2,000 yards. He also protected his quarterback very well. Humphries started playing football in his first year of high school. He never allowed a sack during his last three years there.
In 2011, his team had a great season. They won 13 games and lost only one. They reached the state semifinals. Many top college teams wanted him to play for them. He chose to play for the Florida Gators.
College Career
Humphries started college at the University of Florida in January 2012. He joined the team's spring practice right away. As a first-year player, called a true freshman, he played in all 12 games. He started three of those games.
He performed very well in many games. He was named to the First-team Offense SEC Coaches' All-Freshman team. Sporting News also named him a Freshman All-American.
In his second year (2013), he played in seven games. He then got an injury that ended his season early. As a junior in 2014, he played in 10 games. He missed two games because of another injury. After his junior year, he decided to enter the NFL draft.
Professional Career
Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals picked D. J. Humphries in the 2015 NFL draft. He was the 24th player chosen overall. He was the first offensive lineman from Florida to be picked so high since 2011.
On June 1, 2015, Humphries signed a four-year contract with the Cardinals. It was worth about $8.91 million.
In his first year (rookie season), Humphries did not play in any regular season games. He was inactive for all 16 games. He was also inactive for both playoff games. This was unusual for a first-round draft pick.
For his second season in 2016, Humphries became the starting right tackle. He played his first professional game against the New England Patriots. Later that season, he also started playing at left tackle. This happened after another player got hurt. In December 2016, he got a concussion.
In 2017, Humphries started as the team's left tackle. He hurt his knee in the first game and missed four games. He came back and played four more games. But in Week 10, he got another serious knee injury. This injury ended his season.
In 2018, the Cardinals extended his contract for another year. He started nine games at left tackle. However, he got another knee injury in Week 10. He was then placed on injured reserve, meaning he couldn't play for the rest of the season.
On February 17, 2020, Humphries signed a new three-year contract. It was worth $45 million and kept him with the Cardinals until 2022. On August 2, 2022, he signed another extension. This one was for three years and $66.6 million, through the 2025 season.
On November 26, 2022, he was placed on injured reserve because of a back injury. On March 13, 2024, the Cardinals released Humphries after nine seasons with the team.
