Daisy Fuentes, born on November 17, 1966, is a Cuban-American model, TV host, and actress. She made history as MTV's first Latina VJ, which means she hosted music video shows. Daisy also became the first Latina spokesperson for the beauty brand Revlon with a worldwide contract.

Early Life and Education

Daisy Fuentes was born in Havana, Cuba. When she was three years old in 1969, her family moved to Madrid, Spain, to escape the government at that time. Four years later, they moved to Harrison, New Jersey, in the United States.

Daisy went to Harrison High School. She was very popular and graduated in 1984. She first thought about becoming a hairstylist. Later, she studied communications at Bergen Community College.

Daisy's Career Journey

While still in college, Daisy started her career in television. She worked as a weather presenter for WNJU-TV 47, a Spanish-language TV station. Soon after, she moved to Univision's WXTV-TV 41 in New York. There, she was a weather anchor and also reported for the evening news.

Becoming an MTV VJ

In 1988, Daisy hosted MTV Internacional. This was a Spanish-language music show that aired in Latin America and the U.S. This show made her well-known. In 1993, Daisy joined MTV in the U.S. She became the first Latina VJ for the network. She also hosted shows for MTV Latin America.

While at MTV, Daisy also hosted House of Style, a show about fashion and modeling. She became one of MTV's most popular hosts. Companies soon wanted her to be their spokesmodel.

Daisy also started acting. She appeared on the ABC soap opera Loving. She also had roles in TV shows like Dream On, The Larry Sanders Show, Ghostwriter, and Cybill.

From 1994 to 1995, Daisy had her own talk show called Daisy on CNBC. She was also a co-host of America's Funniest Home Videos from 1998 to 1999. This made her the only female host of that show.

Daisy hosted many special events, including the ALMA Awards, Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, and the World Music Awards. She also hosted the Miss Teen USA, Miss USA, and Miss Universe beauty pageants. In 2000, she guest-starred in the TV series Queen of Swords and Baywatch. Daisy Fuentes started dating singer/songwriter/producer Richard Marx in August 2013. They got married on December 23, 2015.
