Dermot Patrick Mulroney (born October 31, 1963) is an American actor. He is famous for his many roles in movies and TV shows. You might know him from romantic comedies, westerns, or drama films.
Dermot Mulroney has been in popular movies like My Best Friend's Wedding (1997), About Schmidt (2002), and The Wedding Date (2005). More recently, he appeared in Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015), Scream VI (2023), and Anyone but You (2023). He has also acted in TV series such as Shameless and The Purge.

Dermot Mulroney was born on Halloween Day in 1963 in Alexandria, Virginia. His dad, Michael Mulroney, was a law professor and lawyer. His mom, Ellen, was an actress in local theater. Dermot has Irish and German family roots. He is the middle child of five siblings, including his younger brother, Kieran Mulroney, who is also an actor and writer.
When he was young, Dermot played the cello in school and city orchestras. He also acted in plays for kids. He went to T. C. Williams High School in Alexandria. During high school, he attended the Interlochen Arts Camp to play the cello. After high school, he studied communications at Northwestern University and graduated in 1985. He has a small scar on his upper lip from a childhood accident when he was three years old.
