Empson Othman Desai Williams (June 12, 1959 – April 10, 2022) was a Canadian sprinter. He was an amazing athlete who won an Olympic bronze medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay race at the Los Angeles 1984 Games. Desai Williams was born in Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis.

Desai Williams: A Fast Sprinter
Desai Williams was known for his incredible speed. He competed in the first two World Championships. These are big international competitions for athletes. He reached the semi-finals in both 1983 and 1987.
Personal Best Times
Desai Williams set impressive personal records during his career.
- His fastest time in the 200 metres race was 20.29 seconds, which he achieved in 1983.
- For the 100 metres race, his best time was 10.11 seconds. He ran this time when he finished 6th at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea.
Coaching and Later Life
After his racing career, Williams became a coach. He worked as the speed coach for the Toronto Argonauts, a professional football team. He also helped train several Olympic athletes. Some of these athletes include Tremaine Harris, Phylicia George, and Justyn Warner.
Challenges and Legacy
In 2015, Williams was no longer a coach for Athletics Canada. Later, in 2018, he received a lifetime ban from Athletics Canada. This was due to past issues related to fair play in sports.
Desai Williams passed away on April 10, 2022, at the age of 62. He died from a heart attack.
