Destiny Chukunyere (born August 29, 2002), known simply as Destiny, is a talented singer from Malta. She became famous when she won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 for Malta with her song "Not My Soul".
Later, she showed off her singing skills on Britain's Got Talent in 2017. She also won the second season of The X Factor in Malta. This win meant she would represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. However, that contest was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Destiny then represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Je me casse", where she finished in 7th place.

About Destiny
Destiny Chukunyere was born on August 29, 2002. She grew up in Birkirkara, Malta. Her father, Ndubisi Chukunyere, was a footballer from Nigeria, and her mother is Maltese. Destiny has two younger siblings: a sister named Melody and a brother named Isaiah.
Her Singing Journey
Before she became a Junior Eurovision star, Destiny took part in many singing competitions. She placed third in the Festival Kanzunetta Indipendenza in 2014. She also won the Asterisks Music Festival and SanRemo Junior in Italy.
Junior Eurovision Song Contest (2015)
On July 11, 2015, Destiny won the Maltese national final. This meant she would represent Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
She won the national final by singing "Think" by Aretha Franklin. Her song for Junior Eurovision was called "Not My Soul". It was written by Elton Zarb and Muxu, with Destiny helping too. Destiny won the contest with 185 points, setting a new record score!
Because of her amazing win, Destiny and her team received a special award called the Midalja għall-Qadi tar-Repubblika on December 13, 2015.
Britain's Got Talent (2017)
In 2017, Destiny auditioned for Britain's Got Talent. She sang "Think" by Aretha Franklin again and impressed all the judges. Famous music critic Simon Cowell and opera singer Joseph Calleja praised her. Simon Cowell even said she could be a big star!
Destiny made it to the live semi-finals. She performed in the second semi-final but finished 6th, which meant she was eliminated from the show.
X Factor Malta (2019–2020)
In 2019, Destiny was a backing singer for Malta's entry, Michela Pace, at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Later that year, Destiny joined the second season of X Factor Malta. She was in the Girls category and was mentored by Ira Losco. On February 8, 2020, Destiny won the competition!
Eurovision Song Contest (2020–2021)
Winning X Factor Malta meant Destiny would represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Her song was "All of My Love". However, the event was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
But Destiny still got her chance! On May 16, 2020, it was confirmed she would represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Her new song was "Je me casse". She released it on March 15, 2021. In the final, Destiny finished in 7th place with 255 points.
The Voice Kids Malta (2022–Present)
On July 15, 2022, it was announced that Destiny would become a coach on the first season of The Voice Kids Malta. This means she helps young singers improve their skills.

Destiny has shared that her biggest inspirations are famous singers like Aretha Franklin, Beyoncé, and Lizzo.
