Destiny Chukunyere (born on August 29, 2002) is a talented singer from Malta. She is known simply as Destiny. She became famous when she won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015. She sang the song "Not My Soul" for Malta in that contest.
In 2017, Destiny appeared on Britain's Got Talent. She later won the Maltese version of The X Factor. This win meant she would represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. However, that contest was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Destiny then represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with her song "Je me casse". She finished in 7th place.

About Destiny's Life
Destiny Chukunyere was born on August 29, 2002. She grew up in Birkirkara, Malta. She went to secondary school in Ħamrun. Her father, Ndubisi Chukunyere, is a former footballer from Nigeria. Her mother is Maltese. Destiny has two younger siblings: a sister named Melody and a brother named Isaiah.
Destiny's Singing Journey
Before her big win at Junior Eurovision, Destiny took part in many singing competitions. She placed third in the Festival Kanzunetta Indipendenza in 2014. She also won the Asterisks Music Festival and SanRemo Junior in Italy.
Junior Eurovision Success (2015)
On July 11, 2015, Destiny won the Maltese national final. This meant she would represent Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015. The contest took place in Sofia, Bulgaria, on November 21.
Destiny won the national final by singing "Think" by Aretha Franklin. Her Junior Eurovision song was "Not My Soul". Elton Zarb composed the music, and Muxu helped write the lyrics with Destiny. She won the contest with 185 points. This was a new record score at the time!
On December 13, 2015, Destiny and her team received a special award called the Midalja għall-Qadi tar-Repubblika.
Britain's Got Talent (2017)
In early 2017, Destiny auditioned for Britain's Got Talent. She sang "Think" by Aretha Franklin and received four "yes" votes from the judges. Her audition was shown on TV on May 20.
Famous music critic Simon Cowell and tenor Joseph Calleja praised her performance. Simon Cowell said that they had been waiting for someone who "could be a star," and Destiny might be that person. Destiny made it to the live shows and performed in the second semi-final on May 30. She finished 6th in her semi-final and was eliminated.

X Factor Malta Win (2019–2020)
In 2019, Destiny was a backing singer for Malta's entry, Michela Pace, at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The song "Chameleon" made it to the final.
Later in 2019, Destiny joined the second season of X Factor Malta. She was in the Girls category, and Ira Losco was her mentor. Destiny made it to the live shows and won the competition on February 8, 2020.

Eurovision Song Contest (2020–2021)
After winning X Factor Malta, Destiny was chosen to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. This event was planned for Rotterdam, Netherlands. Her song, "All of My Love", came out on March 9, 2020. However, the contest was canceled on March 18 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On May 16, 2020, it was confirmed that Destiny would represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Her new song was "Je me casse". This song was released on March 15, 2021. "Je me casse" became available on streaming services on March 22, 2021. In the final, she placed seventh with 255 points.
The Voice Kids Malta (2022–Present)
On July 15, 2022, it was announced that Destiny Chukunyere would be a coach on the first season of The Voice Kids Malta.
