Devin Maurice Ebanks (born October 28, 1989) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a forward for Al-Ahli Jeddah in the Saudi Basketball League. The Los Angeles Lakers picked him as the 43rd player in the 2010 NBA draft. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for two seasons at West Virginia University.

Devin Ebanks' High School Journey
Devin Ebanks was a fantastic basketball player in high school. When he was a sophomore at Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School in Brooklyn, New York, he scored about 18 points per game. He also grabbed six rebounds and had 1.3 assists per game.
Playing at St. Thomas More School
For his junior year, Devin moved to St. Thomas More School in Connecticut. There, he averaged 23 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. In his senior year, he continued to shine, averaging 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists. He scored over 1,000 points in his two years at St. Thomas More.
High School Honors and Recognition
Devin earned many awards during his high school career. He was chosen for the Jordan Brand Classic All-Star Game in New York. He also played AAU basketball, which is a big deal for young athletes.
He was one of only 30 players picked for the 2007 USA Basketball Development Festival. This event took place at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At the camp, Devin averaged an amazing 28.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.
Experts thought Devin was one of the best high school players in the country. Rivals.com ranked him 11th overall, and Scout.com ranked him 13th. Many top colleges wanted him, including Indiana, Memphis, Rutgers, and Texas. Devin first chose Indiana, but he later decided to go to West Virginia University to play for coach Bob Huggins.
Devin Ebanks' College Basketball Career
At West Virginia University (WVU), Devin Ebanks quickly made a name for himself. He often had "double-doubles," which means he scored double-digit points and grabbed double-digit rebounds in the same game.
Freshman Year Highlights
In one game against Cleveland State, Devin had 10 points and an amazing 17 rebounds. He also had 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. In another game against Davidson, he led his team with 17 rebounds and scored 13 points. He continued this strong play with 15 points and 10 rebounds against Duquesne.
Devin showed his skills against many tough teams. He had 10 points and 5 rebounds against Ohio State. He also played well against Seton Hall, scoring 10 points and grabbing 9 rebounds. Even when his team lost to top-ranked teams like UConn and Marquette, Devin was a key player.
He helped WVU win against teams like Marshall, USF, and Georgetown. In a close game against Louisville, he scored 14 points and had 6 rebounds. He also had a great game against Syracuse, with 9 points and 9 rebounds.
Devin had a season-high 16 points against Pittsburgh. He followed that with another double-double against Villanova, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. He continued to get double-doubles against Rutgers and Cincinnati.
By the end of his freshman year, Devin had 10 double-doubles. He was so good that he was named to the Big East all-rookie team.
Big East and NCAA Tournaments
In the Big East Tournament, Devin had an incredible game against Notre Dame, grabbing a season-high 18 rebounds. He then scored a season-high 20 points against the #2 Pittsburgh Panthers. In the semifinals against #20 Syracuse, he set a new career-high with 22 points. He was named to the All-Big East Tournament team for his great play.
Even though WVU lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Dayton, Devin still played well, scoring 14 points and getting 12 rebounds.
For his freshman season, Devin averaged 10.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. He decided to return to WVU for his sophomore season. In his sophomore year (2009–10), he improved his scoring to 12.0 points per game and continued to grab 8.1 rebounds per game.
Devin Ebanks' Professional Basketball Career

Devin Ebanks decided to enter the 2010 NBA draft. The Los Angeles Lakers picked him as the 43rd player overall. He officially signed with the Lakers on August 12, 2010.
Time with the Los Angeles Lakers
During his time with the Lakers, Devin also played for their minor league teams, like the Bakersfield Jam and the Los Angeles D-Fenders. This allowed him to get more playing time and develop his skills.
In his second season with the Lakers (2011–12), Devin was named the starting small forward for some games. In his first game as a starter against the Chicago Bulls, he scored 8 points. That season, he played in 24 games, starting 12 of them, and averaged 4 points in about 16.5 minutes per game. He re-signed with the Lakers for another year in 2012.
Playing in the NBA D-League and Overseas
After his time with the Lakers, Devin continued his career in the NBA Development League (now called the G-League) and played for many teams around the world.
In 2013, he joined the Texas Legends. He was even named to the Prospects All-Star roster for the 2014 NBA D-League All-Star Game. Later that year, he was traded to the Springfield Armor.
Devin also played internationally. In 2014, he signed with Bnei Herzliya in Israel and later with Halcones Rojos Veracruz in Mexico. In 2015, he played for Brujos de Guayama in Puerto Rico.
He returned to the NBA D-League in 2015, playing for the Grand Rapids Drive. On January 18, 2016, Devin had an amazing game, scoring 43 points! This set a new record for the Grand Rapids Drive team. Because of his great performance, he was named to the All-NBA D-League Third Team.
Devin continued to play for teams in different countries, including Leones de Ponce and Atléticos de San Germán in Puerto Rico, Reales de La Vega in the Dominican Republic, and Mens Sana 1871 Basket in Italy. He also played for Châlons-Reims in France, where he was the top scorer in 2019.
More recently, Devin has played for teams like San-en NeoPhoenix in Japan, Indios de Mayagüez in Puerto Rico, and Iraklis Thessaloniki in Greece. In 2021, he joined Manama in the Bahraini Premier League. He helped Manama win their 21st national championship and the Bahraini Cup in 2022. He scored 34 points in the final game!
Since 2022, Devin has been playing for Al-Ahli Jeddah in the Saudi Basketball League.
