Divinity Roxx is an amazing American musician, producer, and composer. She was born Debbie Walker in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1976. She is known for her incredible bass guitar skills and has been nominated for a Grammy Award two times!
Divinity Roxx toured and performed with superstar Beyoncé Knowles from 2006 to 2011. She was Beyoncé's bassist and also helped direct the music for "The Beyoncé Experience" and "I Am... World Tour". During the "I Am...Sasha Fierce" tour, Divinity helped write music with other talented musicians.
She has appeared in three of Beyoncé's DVDs: The Beyoncé Experience Live, I Am... Sasha Fierce, and I Am... Yours. You might have also seen her in Beyoncé's music videos for "Irreplaceable" and "Green Light". Divinity even performed with Beyoncé at The White House for President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama! She has also played on famous TV shows like Ellen, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and Saturday Night Live. Later, she played bass for rapper B.o.B on The Arsenio Hall Show and The Queen Latifah Show.

Early Music Journey
Divinity started her music journey in high school. She formed a hip-hop group called DATBU (Divinity and the Breakfast Unit) with her friends. They released their own album called FoolProof in 1997.
In 2000, Divinity went to a special music camp led by the famous bassist Victor Wooten. There, she met Victor and his brothers. After the camp, Victor asked Divinity to join his band on tour! She toured with Victor Wooten's band from 2000 to 2005. She is featured on his albums Live in America (2001) and Soul Circus (2005). She also appears on his 2012 album, Words and Tones.
Solo Music Albums
Divinity Roxx has released several of her own albums. Each one shows off her unique style and amazing musical talent.
Ain’t No Other Way (2003)
Ain't No Other Way was Divinity's first solo album. She released it in 2003 while she was touring with Victor Wooten. Famous producers like will.i.am and DJ Lethal helped create this album.
The Roxx Boxx Experience (2012)
In 2012, Divinity released her second album, The Roxx Boxx Experience. On this album, Divinity played bass and sang lead vocals. Other musicians played guitar, drums, and sang backing vocals.
ImPossible (2016)
Divinity released her album ImPossible in 2016. This album mixes many different music styles. You can hear elements of funk, soul, rock, hip-hop, and jazz in its songs.
Ready Set Go! (2021)
Ready Set Go! came out in 2021 and was Divinity's first album made for children! It features hip-hop beats and positive messages. This album was so good that it was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Children's Music Album!
World Wide Playdate (2024)
Divinity released World Wide Playdate in 2024. This album is a follow-up to her first children's music album. It includes songs produced by Wayne Gerard and Mary Brown. Many special guests joined her on this album, including her mentor Victor Wooten, Malcom Jamal Warner, and Tank 'Tarrionna" Ball. This album also received a Grammy nomination for Best Children's Music Album!
Music for TV and Theater
Divinity Roxx also creates music for television shows and plays.
TV Show Music
Divinity wrote, performed, and helped produce the theme song for the PBS Kids show Lyla in the Loop. This fun show started airing on PBS Kids in February 2024.
Theater Show Music
Divinity has also composed music for theater productions. She co-wrote the music for "The Boy Who Kissed the Sky" with Eugene Russell IV. She also composed "Fresh Greens" for "Into the Burrow: A Peter Rabbit Story". This play teaches audiences to face their fears and work together to solve problems.

Television Appearances
Divinity has appeared on several television shows. She was on The Soul Man with rapper B.o.B. She also played bass in the house band for the BET show Black Girls Rock! from 2014 to 2016. On that show, she backed up many famous artists like Erykah Badu and Patti LaBelle.
