Dogtanian's Adventures: The Plot
The story takes place in France in the 1600s. It follows a brave young dog named Dogtanian. He leaves his home in Béarn and travels to Paris. His big dream is to become one of King Louis XIII of France's special guards, called musketeers.
In Paris, Dogtanian quickly becomes friends with three famous musketeers: Porthos, Athos, and Aramis. He also helps Juliette, who works for Queen Anne of Austria. Together, they go on many exciting adventures.
How the Show Was Made: Production
The Dogtanian series was created in 1981. It was a team effort between a Spanish company called BRB Internacional and a Japanese studio named Nippon Animation.
The show first aired in Japan on October 9, 1981. A year later, on October 9, 1982, it started showing in Spain. The partnership between these two companies worked so well that they later made another popular show called Around the World with Willy Fog.
In 1985, the series was dubbed into English. This means the voices were changed to English. It was first shown in the United Kingdom on the BBC channel in January 1985. Today, you can still watch Dogtanian on different online platforms like YouTube and Netflix.
