Dominik Landertinger (born March 13, 1988) is a retired biathlete from Austria. A biathlete is an athlete who competes in biathlon, a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting. It's a challenging sport that requires both speed and accuracy!

Dominik Landertinger's Career Highlights

Dominik Landertinger started his professional biathlon career in the 2007–08 season. He quickly became well-known during the 2008–09 season. He achieved many great results, including fourteen times finishing in the top three.

First Big Wins

One of his most exciting moments was winning a gold medal in the 15 km mass start race at the 2009 World Championships in Pyeongchang. A mass start race means all athletes start at the same time. He also won another 15 km mass start race in Khanty-Mansiysk during the 2009–10 season. At the 2009 World Championships, he also earned a silver medal in the men's relay race. He competed alongside his teammates Daniel Mesotitsch, Simon Eder, and Christoph Sumann.

Olympic Achievements

Dominik Landertinger proudly represented Austria in three Winter Olympics:

  • The 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
  • The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.
  • The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
