East Canada Creek is a river in upstate New York, United States. It is about 34.6 miles (55.7 km) long. This river flows south from New York's Adirondack Park. It eventually joins the Mohawk River.
The name "Canada" might come from an old word. This word, Kanata, means "village". The name might also mean the creek was an important path to Canada long ago.
The Creek's Journey
East Canada Creek starts in Hamilton County. It forms northeast of a place called Powley Place. Here, smaller streams come together to create the creek.
As it flows, the creek helps form borders. It runs along parts of Herkimer, Fulton, and Montgomery counties. The creek also flows through the Village of Dolgeville. After Dolgeville, it enters Kyser Lake.
